Bug in setting default music folder (build 9.0.88)
« on: December 25, 2002, 08:11:42 am »

Not sure where to send this bug report.  I'm a registered user of Version 8, but have been running Version 9 for reasons unrelated to this bug.
I went into Options, File Naming & Location, to change the Base path for the Output file location.  Instead of using the browse button to browse to my music directory, I erased the default (C:\Music), and typed in the correct path for my computer (D:\My Music).  After I did that I discovered several new, empty folders had been created on my hard drives:  C:\M, C:\Mu, C:\Mus, C:\Musi (C:\Music had been created already when the program was installed), and also: D:\M, D:\My, D:\My M, D:\My Mu, D:\My Mus, and D:\My Musi.
Apparently it creates these "on the fly" as I erased and then typed in the correct path.  I assume it should NOT work like that, and wasn't certain if the developers knew about it or not.
My guess is that if one browses to the correct path, it wouldn't do that, but I haven't tried that.

Interesting...

I wrote a program last year, and that was one of the bugs.

It was using Calls to The API to create the dir if it did not exist.
