Media Server
« on: December 22, 2002, 09:18:58 am »

I have been using MJ 8 And have recently bought Media Centre, FANTASTIC WORK TEAM !!!!!
One question though, as far as the media server goes, how do I get to share media with someone else if I don't know their IP Add ? and they don't know mine.

Try my server please and let me know if it's working.
And yes, I am sadly on what used to be known as
Dial-Up (some of you have forgotten what that is I guess !!)
Server IP : 169.254.213.195:80

Your gonna find out that this is discouraged here.

Maybe That's better now - I hope. But what exactly is the point of having a server then ? Don't make much sense !!!
I download music i want to buy, and if I like it I GO BUY IT !!! - of all the music I have on my pc I (unlike many) can HONESTLY say has been paid for and I have the originals.

The media server was designed to allow you to listen to your music from someplace other than the machine where the mp3s are physically located.   I listen to my collection from work and when I'm on the road (I tend to stay in hotels that have high-speed internet access).
