Hiya,
Just a few ideas for this seemingly trivial area but one that actualy contains most of the power for doing stuff to files.
1. I'd LOVE to see an option in there to: Export to PLaylist so that I can select a bunch of files and directly export to a .m3u playlist and save it somewhere on my hard drive. Right now I believe I first have to create a playlist and then export that. This can be a slow and time consuming process with the current setup.
2. Burn song should be added as a top level item to this menu as it's a pretty key feature. Maybe a vote could be taken on this to see if other MJ users agree.
3. Play, Playing Now and Send To/Playing Now could be reorganised. Instead of the way it is right now, Playing now could be replaced with the 'Playing Now' menu item in the 'Send To' menu and 'Play' could be replaced with a function like the sticky 'Send To' item where it remembers what was last used. This would allow all play methods to be accessed faster and for whichever option people use the most commonly to be the one that is directly accessible via the top level menu item.
4. Tools should be brought to the Top level and should include things like: Analyse Audio, Clean File Properties, Rename File, Move File.
5. 'Rename' in the right click menu still to this day confuses me and makes me think it means rename the file, not change the file properties.
6. Locate File - it then has a list of all my View Schemes. If I click on one that the file does not appear in it almost instantly tells me it's not in that view scheme. If it can work out that fast which view scheme it is not in then cant it work this out and create the menu dynamically to only include view scheme's that the file is in. Why give me an option that isn't actually an option and then produce an error telling me it's not an option. Just dont give me the option in the first place
7. PRETTY PLEASE bring Rating to a top level menu item. It doesn't flow with natural thinking to think of it as likely to appear in 'send to' and so for beginners this wouldn't be the natural place to look. It's also something that I set with every single mp3 and so is something that is used a lot.
It might seem trivial but the right click menu is where all that great work you guys put into MJ is harnessed and so making it 'just right' makes access to all that power you guys give us that much easier and more intuitive.
If you read this post users, PLEASE give feedback and comments as MJ will make changes if they think we want them but wont make changes that they think people wont like. Your opinion IS needed for them to consider doing any of this.
