downloading frustrations
« on: December 20, 2002, 08:26:42 am »

i am using Media Jukebox Download Manager to transfer mp3 files from EMusic.com - frequently, the download in progress stops for unknown reasons with a "cancelled" message - (i did not initiate a cancellation) - sometimes, after i right-click on the file and then click on the resume/retry download button, the file will begin downloading from the very beginning - very frustrating - does anyone have any suggestions?

The Trouble I Have Is I Will Get Maybe 3 Or 4 Albums
Downloading..Then When I Try To Do Say A 4th Or 5th..I Have To Logout And Re-Log Back On...Seems Like The Download Manager Won't Capture The Download
That's All I Have To Offer

NYMale,
I have the same problem. I just relog in and it fixes it. It is somewhat frustrating but I always assumed it was an EMusic problem.

Re: Emusic downloading frustrations

Perhaps it would be better to use the Emusic Manager to download the music! Then let MusicJuke Box find the files that where just downloaded and organize them from within the program.  I don't know if this way would work or not!  However, I too am a Emusic member and was glad to see there maybe a problem using MJB before I tried downloading through the program.  I also use RealOne Player and it seems to find the music ok so maybe I'll stick with how I have been downloading until these bugs get worked out!

Happy Holidays All!

I now allways use Emusic downloader.
Because i do not like the Emusic sleeves-they are to small.
There is problems with downloading from Emusic from time to time.
The Emusic downloader just stay on the song he cannot download ,MJ_C download manager just lost the song sometimes or get to a point you cannot set 'delete 'or pause or restart to the song who has a problem.
The Emusic downloader is very primitive and i sent them an email about it.
In another hand the MJ_C downloader has troubles dealling with Emusic problems.

But i can tell you te problem is on Emusic side ,not MJ_C

I never have problems with MediaJukebox Download Manager and EMusic except for losing the connection after 3 or 4 album downloads. I just relog in --- no problem. The advantage to MJDM is
1.  multiple downloads are available, thereby not wasting any bandwidth (It stays at maximum) and
2.  Files downloaded are automatically imported into MJ/MC.

Otherwise, EMusic's DM works just fine.
