I believe the WebRemote allows you to connect to MJ via a web browser and control playback through the browser.

Web Remote doesn't require MJ to be installed on the remote pc. And it doesn't give you access to many of the library functions. Pretty much all it can do is the basic playback controls.

Oh, one more thing.

While Media Server allows you to stream the music from the remote PC to your PC, Web Remote will only start playback on the remote PC.

It's good if you have one server in your house, with speakers wired up throughout. It gives you a way to control that PC remotely.

Or if for example you want to control a audio PC that is connected to your sound system from a PDA or WebPad...

The Web Romte plug in is realy an enabler plug in... It has allowed the creation of Netremote and Glissando which are both 2 way control mechanisms that support network control as I have described... I run Glissando on wireless touchpads and a LCD screen near my rack (total of all this less than $200) and output it from my HTPC to my surround setup...

Without web remote this would have been much harder if possible at all...
