this seems to be one file not in the visual basic runtime files install package that my OCX needs to run.

is there a way i can put this file in the ZIP and have it installed in the users system dir?

Sure,

Add the file to the zip file and append following info to your MJP file:

FileX=VB6STKIT.DLL
FileXAction1=COPY_SYSDIR

Where X is next available number in MJP file.
