My library of 15,000 tracks just vanished. I was ripping a track from a CD and next thing I noticed, that's the only track in the library. Playlists gone. Everything.

And of course I haven't backed up my library since Aug. 21.

What's the best way to recover? Restore the latest backup and then re-import for additions since then? Or just reimport?

What happens to my playlists? Notes? Custom fields?

Anybody have any idea what happened?

re-importing will work, apparently, which is good, because restoring my most recent backup library did not work.

all my playlists are gone. any way to get them back?

and do you have any idea how this happened?

well there was a bug in MJ8 and may still be there about the dbase would vanish i think this was due to the dbase already open (maybe media server) etc.. i forget now but it happen to me a few times. I however have not used MJ8 for a year now and prefer MC9 and have not had this priblem since.

you also are not using the current version, i guess to keep video\tv active

right, still on old MJ8, but not for TV/video. I wanted to hang on to it for CDDB till I finished DB-asing all my CDs, and I'm a little over half way. But now that CDDB doesn't work even in this version, I'll be moving to MC.
