How to disable Mega-Me Skins in Media Center 9.1.269?
« on: October 09, 2003, 02:42:38 pm »

Hi,

I've just installed the new version and now I'm  searching for a way to disable Mega-Me skins ;-). In the prior version (9.0.180)  there was an entry in the menu containing the Mega-Me skins, but now it's missing. The default skin (PixOs) is looking great but I have WindowBlinds from stardock.com installed and skinning of the MediaCenter window is only possible when the built-in skins are  disabled. Is there a way to have skinning in the new MC disabled?

With kind regards,
Michael

P.S.: Great software, it's worth every penny I payed for it   :) ;) ;)

Michael,

Unfortunately, there is no way to disable skins in the 9.1 version of MC (this has been discussed on the boards before).  If you like the Windows look, you can download the excellent Windows skin (by knickelfarz, I believe) over in the Third Party Skins forum.  I don't know if this will be any help to you though, because of your WindowBlinds issue.

Sorry,

crow

Hi,
thank you very much for your fast replies.  OK, if it isn't possible to make MC look like the rest of my windows I start searching for  WindowBlinds skins that make my windows look like MC  ;),

regards,
michael

That's what I did. You said you liked the PixOS skin, so I suggest you check out http://www.pixtudio.com. They have an entire suite of skins for PixOS. It does cost money, but it's a reasonable price. Only $9.75.

You can also find a patched dll file that lets you apply XP themes for free (assuming that you use XP)

I think that this is the site which had pointers to the dll (it certainly has themes):
http://www.themexp.org/

I'll see if I can dig up the patched DLL somewhere.
[edit]Found it... I think. http://www.belchfire.net/article205.html

I personally use:
http://www.themexp.org/view_info.php?id=12253

but there are tons of other themes.
