Modifying Blue Steel Skin
« on: October 14, 2003, 01:55:02 am »

First i'd like to thank those who helped with modifying XM. unfortunately the results were not as i'd hoped. However i may have found the solution, changing the blue steel skin itself.

Would anyone know how that is done. For instance, if i wanted to change the colour of the text in the media library to the colour GREEN how would i do that, and where do i find what number each colour is?

This i'm sure would solve my problem.

Thanks

You use an XML editor to edit the color selections in the file "Main.XML" where the text and background colors are defined.

To get the color code numbers you can use a graphics/photo program such as Photoshop . . .  which will provide the numbers for a color chosen in that program.

stevenf,

You can modify the main.xml file as described in the other thread, either by using Notepad or using LisaRCT's app.  Not sure where the actual tag is (I'm at work right now and don't have MC handy), but if you look in there you should be able to find it.

Here is a list of color codes. It says it's for HTML, but I think it should work for the skins (not sure if HTML color codes differ from other types, I'm not that well-versed in this stuff). Give it a shot, it can't hurt.

Hope it helps,
