http://www.musicex.com/mediacenter/download.html

The latest build of 9.1 is here:
ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaCenter91298.exe

9.1.298 History
1. NEW: Added "Internal Volume" mode for zone-specific / MC-specific volume control. (click speaker image next to volume slider)
2. Fixed: If user got MC license from a non-IE browser, they might get error "Failed extracting licence from file".
3. Fixed: Hairstyle "Play" would not always honor the selection.
4. Changed: Duration formatted hh:mm:ss up to 100 hours -- then switches to 2.3 days, etc.

9.1.297 History
1. Fixed: Skin Effects were enabled by default.
2. Fixed: CD / DVD virtual folders had their first letter cut off in the tree.
3. Fixed: CD folders and CD virtual folders were using the same icon.
4. Fixed: With MC maximized, hot swapping of skins and skin effects wouldn't fully take effect.
5. Changed: Hot swapping of skins / skin effects faster.
6. Changed: By default, image playback caption no longer says "Playing" when playing. (still says "Paused" when paused)
7. Changed: When "Update from CD database" is selected and YADB doesn't find a match, MC checks for cd-text and cdplayer.ini info.
8. Fixed: "This Folder" was not working properly.

Thank you.
Now is there any way it would be possible to display the total and remaining time for the PN playlist at all times? preferably as an option in the player area.

At present the only way to see the PN total time is if there is now file selected in PN and we see the time of the currently playing file in both the player area & bottom status area.

when i tried renaming some mp3's

I had a mp3 that was reported as busy

after that like every other file also reported the same message (they were not busy)

after all the error messages was done, i reselected the files all but the busy one and it worked on all the files that reported they were busy.

I agree.  Total time playing on bottom toolbar would be great.

Reproducible crash with this build on my WinXP Pro SP-1 system:

* Use either "Internal Volume (audio only)" or "System Volume" - it doesn't seem to matter.

* In Options > Playback, select one of the Fadeout options from the "Stop" drop-down list.  Using "Fadeout (slow)" is easiest.

* Play an audio file.

To reproduce the crash, try closing MC two times, with the second time being when the fadeout is taking place.  This is most easily done by clicking the upper right close (i.e. "X") button two times.

Also, I get a dialog that says "Error retrieving auto media insertion information." every time I open the Options dialog.  I do have auto-insert notification and auto-run disabled in WinXP, but I'm thinking I don't need the reminder every time I go into MC's options.

I really like the skin effects!  Especially the greyscale.  It makes many of the skins much more palletable(sp).  I just wish I could greyscale my whole windows display.

Installer choice of Mega-Me skin doesn't work - hasn't for a few builds - you can select any skin when installing and it ignores the choice when loading up.

LOVE the effects we can apply.
Any chance of letting us also choose how much of a tint to apply? I have no idea of the technology behind it so dont know if it's possible or not but it'd nice to be able to apply 'just a tint' or 'strong colour' etc.

Is that possible or not with how your doing it?

What version of MC do you have,
What skins are you trying to use, (Some are not valid with some builds)

Also you may want to post your setup. Goto Help System Info and paste that.

palletable: ability to create a range of grey scales or colors (invented word)

LimpFace,

If you are using the newest version of MC, 9.1.298, or any of the newer versions after 9.1, the mega-me skins that you download will not work.  The only skins that will work with Media Center are the ones that come with the install, and maybe a few that several users/forum board members have developed in their spare time.  If you want any of those skins, you have to search for them in the other forum about 3rd Party Plugins and skins.  Some of the ones that have been developed that will work are the MediaOne, WinDoze, and Brushed Metal skins.  If you can't find the forum I just refered to, try searching for one or more of those skin names and you should find threads that have links to downloads of those skins.

Hope that helps.

Wobbley

P.S. What part of Denmark are you from?  I was just there (Copenhagen) in December of last year.  It was a beautiful place.

Sorry about that. This is fixed and hopefully we can get a build out soon. In the meantime, inserting or ejecting a CD while MC is running should allow you to get into the options dialog.

Does it happen only in the latest version?
What TV card do you have?

Hi Yaobing   :)

I am using an ATi  All-In-Wonder 7500, and this problem seems to have arisen (again) in this build (althogh it has occurred in some bulds in the past).

9.1.298 History
1. NEW: Added "Internal Volume" mode for zone-specific / MC-specific volume control. (click speaker image next to volume slider)

This is very cool - is it accessible from either mjextman.exe or the MCC messages?  (I have a couple of girder commands that I would love to be able to mute the MC volumn while they run.)

Yup Nila, this is a bug in this build . . .  I mistakenly started a new thread on it rather than posting it here   :o

MC audio CD database bug.

If I insert an audio CD and get info from YADB - then take the CD out and reinsert it in my other CD drive - MC sees this as an unknown CD.

Putting it back in the original drive and it "recognizes" the CD again.

Minor issue: When I use "Fadeout (fast)", and hit stop while an audio track is playing, the fadeout occurs, and at the very end, there is a "blip" of full-volume sound.  That is, the volume goes from 100% to 0%, then jumps to 100% again for a split second, then the track is stopped.

RFE:  When MC invokes to "Remove EMTPY Folders" option after moving files around, it does not remove directories in XP because of the Thumbs.db files ... Can you change the action to remove directories that ONLY contain the thumnail database files (thumbs.db) ?

BUG:  ASIO playback problem with Audigy 2. (? ? ?)

I tried to play the test sample found here at Hydrogenaudio's website, and the following dialog box pops up:

This only happens under the following conditions:

1.)  I set the Output mode to "ASIO,"
2.)  I use DSP Studio to set the Output Format "Sample rate:" to 48,000 Hz.

Using DirectX or Waveout doesn't produce the error.

Also, this is a really, really bad error in that once I click the OK button, my system grinds to a halt and I have to do a hard reset to recover.  (Clarification:  The system will grind to a halt regardless, it just happens instantly if I click OK; it takes 10-20 seconds if I do nothing.)

NOTE:  I'm using v.290.  (I don't have the hour to spare it would take me to download the latest version.)  But since there hasn't been any documented changes to the playback engine, this would probably still happen in v.298.

A couple new problems...

1 -If I double-click on a music file (like MP3) in Explorer, that is associated properly, and Media Center is not already open then Media Center launched and I get a message that says "Please select file(s) to play".

2 - If I select Tools->Options from the menu I get a error message that says "Error retrieving auto media insertion information".

3 - mp4 files will not playback through Media Server (they were working when playback was local).
