Q: Proper Replay Gain Usage
« on: October 16, 2003, 07:41:22 pm »

I was wondering what the proper way to use Replay Gain is:

Basically, if I'm using a card capable of 24bit output, should I use the DSP output setting for 24 bit depth? All of my files are 16/44.1 APEs from CDs.  My thinking is that if RPG is outputing the music at 16bits, I might be losing data, however, if it is outputing the music at 24bits, it should be able to make its changes to the music and output it w/o losing any resolution.

Is that correct?

Thanks,
kiwi
