Minor Suggestion
« on: October 21, 2003, 02:54:24 pm »

When you're renaming files by properties or doing a few other functions, there are sometimes error boxes that come up when it is not successful. Can you make the listing of failed tracks into a form of dialog box that allows the user to copy/paste the text? Or make it log the errors somewhere (and tell you where)? I just did a rename of 500 files, and had 10 errors, but the only way for me to remember which files had errors was to write it down by pen and pencil.

And, when renaming files, it would be great to have some options as to the length of different parts of the filename.  I find this to be a problem when renaming classical files, as the artists names, track names and album names are often quite long.  This frequenly pushes the name over the allowed length.  This also happens when encoding.

At least now, it says that it will truncate the name, but I'd like to be alble to specify how long each part of the name is. Or be given the option to perform the truncation myself.

Thanks,
