Send to Nomad 3 playlist = crash
« on: October 08, 2003, 08:57:19 pm »

Using the Nomad Jukebox 3 plug-in 9.0.23 with MC9.1.270, the only problem I'm having is when I try to send a track to a Nomad playlist. This causes MC9 to crash, "Media Core has encountered a problem..".

Anyone else share this problem?

I cannot duplicate your problem. How are you sending the files to a Nomad Playlist? I retested by dragging an MC file to a Nomad playlist and then starting the transfer. This worked fine for me.

I was right clicking a track from the complete Nomad list (all tracks) and 'Add to Playlist' > 'whichever playlist'.

I still cannot duplicate this. I right clicked on files on the Nomad at the root display and at the Playlist level display and added files to an existing playlist and also I allowed MC to create a new Playlist and all worked fine. Unless someone else can verify this one, my next best guess is that you may need newer drivers from Creative which are compatible with this feature.

Hmm.. strange. According to Notmad my Hardware Version is 1.0.241.0 and Firmware Version is 1.32.2.0. Also, Playlist Support is marked 'yes'.

Using Notmad i can add tracks to playlist, but I'm using the trial version and can only add one track at a time.

Btw, the only playlist oriented thing i can do with MC9 is create one. Sending files to a playlist, from both the root Nomad dir or within another playlist, cause MC9 to crash.

So can anyone duplicate this? If it's just me I'll fool around with things and hopefully fix the problem.

Thanks for the time/help SteveG.

I have posted a new plugin (9.0.26) with modifications which may affect what you are seeing. Please try it. If you still have a problem, we may have to pursue further either drivers or other applications that may be causing problems with us.

Thanks,

Steve

I just installed the new beta (9.1.277) along with the latest plug-in (9.0.26). The problem still remains :-(

I'm at a loss. I can't think of anything about my setup which is any way unique (relatively speaking).

Btw, you're the second person who's referred to me as Punutsool, is that how it shows my nick? Hah! I guess the boards don't like the 'nuts' contained in the middle of my nick.. argh.

On a brighter note, i just uploaded a couple trackinfo plug-ins for the Blue Steel mega-me skin. I think they're pretty cool :-)

What happens if you right click on Nomad and then select 'Synchronize'. When you do this, try to send one small Playlist and let me know if it works.

Thanks,

Yes! This works. So I'll just create playlists from inside MC and import/synchronize that way. Thanks very much for your help Steve, it's much appreciated.
