it would be nice to be able to leave MC minimised (thus not in the taskbar) to rate a song. The best way to do this would be to have a 'Rate Song' menu when you right-click the MC icon in the bottom right area of the screen (not sure what that corner is called). Is that doable?

You may want to check out Rhino's PlayingNow plugin.  It has cool popups that let you rate the current song.

Look on the 3rd party board.

Is there anyway to get something similar to the old "Send To/Rating" right-click option back? It would be very handy for those of us who don't use the graphical rating or have Rating displayed as a column.

I miss the send to: rating feature because it worked perfectly on images. You can't set the rating easily when the action window is in 'image' to see the bigger file. It also worked could cause you didn't have to play the image either.

Removing this feature downgraded image support but the current way works great for audio and video.
