Custom field as a date?
« on: October 23, 2003, 08:16:03 pm »

I'm trying to create a custom tag that will contain the date I bought the album, but there isn't a type for date - only integer and string, neither of which is what I want.  I'd like to eventually be able to use calculations like greater than and less then in smartlists, which strings don't really allow.

Thoughts?  Has anyone tried this and been successful in any way?

Thanks!

Assuming you just want to differentiate between new albums and albums you've had for ages can't you just use [Date Imported]?

Unfortunately, date imported isn't accurate due to times when I re-rip an album for some reason, rebuild my library for some reason, etc.  I'm trying to set up my library so that there is no dependency on the actions of MC directly - all information I care about should be stored in the tags.
