DRM license missing lockups
« on: November 08, 2003, 02:25:36 am »

I've been downloading a lot of music from MusicMatch Downloads.
I'm not having the best results when trying to use MediaCenter to play the files.
One of my big problems right now is that if I try to play a song that has not had its license downloaded yet (i.e. it was originally purchased on computer #1 and now I want to play it on computer #2, MMD allows a total of 3 computers), MediaCenter tries to find the license, fails, and then most of the time completely locks up so that I have to "end task".
I'm running XP with MediaCenter 9.1.269
Help.

You're on 9.1.269 ... the sticky at the top of this forum announces 9.1.299 ... 30 revisions difference.

Try upgrading then check to see if your problems are still around.

I'm using the latest released version.  But I'll try upgrading to a beta version if you think it will help.
Is this an issue that has been addressed before?

Nevermind, I am behind versions on one computer. But I think the problem exists even on the latest version.  I'll double check.

OK, let me clarify how to re-create the lockup:

1) Try to play a DRM protected song with the license present.
2) When the error screen(s) appear, select OK or close or whatever.
3) Then quickly, before it starts trying to play the next song in the list, press the stop button.
4) MC hangs (stops responding) and must "end task" to kill

If instead of trying to press stop, I let it attempt to play other songs, it will give the error three times and then say that MC has received errors on the last few songs and that I should check the paths.  Then it stops on it own and everything is fine.

It's nice that it self-corrects after three tries, however, pressing stop after the first try shouldn't cause the program to stop responding.

I'm now using the latest version, by the way.
