Can Smartlists use WildCards?
« on: December 17, 2002, 10:19:44 am »

I would like to use Smartlists to grab songs based on their comments, and put multiple things in the comments field.  For example, I have a song that is genre=rock, but I want to further classify it as indie by putting indie in its comments.  This way, one smartlist will grab all genre=rock songs, while another smartlist will grab a subset defined by comment=indie.
Now, if I put more than one thing in my comments (like indie, live), can I use a smarlist that says
"comment=%indie%" or
"comment=*indie*" ?
Essentially, I'm trying to break songs into different subsets, so a song could be rock, indie, and live, and I could use the different Smartlists to grab it.  I don't want to use the custom fields.  Also, if a comment field has "indie, chamber, pop, live" I can't use the "starts with" or "ends with" logic that I see in the Smartlist help file.
Thanks for your help in advance.
