7.0 to 9.0 I lost smart-play list, Need to find it
« on: December 13, 2002, 09:03:39 am »

:'(
I need help.  Last week I could not get my 7.0 verson to pop up from my desk top at all.
At that point I down loaded 9.0.
It took in all my audio and vedio data but I lost my edited mucis. Smart and play list files.
I have over 2900 tunes in my system. The editing of 9.0 seams to look harder then easyer.  Not to mention I just got done editing the rest of my tunes just the week before.

I would like to have either 7.0 back and working
I am willing to change from 9.0 to 8.0 if I knew my smart and play list from 7.0 would be imported and filed like I had it.

The other problem I see is that my 7.0 is gone ?
I cant find it and 9.0 seams to override the files of 7.0

If anyone can help I would be so HAPPY............

Thank you.

PS. All you music lovers stay cool......
and have a great Xmas.

Version 9 and 7 cant run at the same time on the same machine.

Before the upgrade to the v9 database happens however it creates a backup of your original database files and so you could uninstall v9.
Reinstall v7 and put back your original database, then what I suggest you do is just write down the smart playlists on some paper and just re-create them in v9.
As for standard playlists, I'm not sure if v7 had a feature to export them but if it did then just export them all and then re-import them into v9.

And as for the editing, once you get used to it, its alot easier in fact. It just takes a little bit of getting used to.
