Automatically Adding Files To The Library
« on: December 14, 2002, 04:24:29 am »

Is there a way to configure MJ so that when new files are added to a folder they are automatically added to the library? Something like the "Watchfolders" feature in MMJB?

If not, what is the best way to add new files that come from an external source? Is the "update database" function the method to use? It is unclear to me wether using that will wipe out the song ratings.

Keeping track of what I have added and specifically adding them manually would be a nasty task. I could really use a way to tell MJ to add anything that has appeared in the folder, and leave everything else, ratings, etc. alone.

Thx,
Graham

No need to use "update database", just use the "import media" button on the toolbar and MJ will scan the directory where you keep you music files and import all of the new ones.
