Audio Control
« on: November 22, 2003, 04:46:42 pm »

Hi MC,

Do you any progress on fixing the audio control bar.  I'm using Teratec Aureon, but MC cannot control the volume of the Aureon Card.  I can only use the Aureon Control Panel.

Do you have a workaround, some options which will remove this pain?

Also, sometime ago, I've requested improving the data entry interface when submitting new albums.
Usually we can access the Internet where they publish the listing of the album we purchased.  I hope that we can cut the list, and then paste it onto MC.  In this way we do not need to paste every title or row.  We hope to copy a list from the web page, and then paste it onto MC.  I think MC can take each line and enter it as different tracks in the DB.  This saves alot of trouble for us during ripping.  It also populate the database faster for all to benefit.

It doesn't matter greatly to me because I mainly use my amp's volume control, but I can confirm this:
Using Terratec Aureon Space 7.1 card, volume cannot be adjusted by MC regardless of Options>Playback>output mode or DSP output mode.

Hi Media Center Team,

Can you acknowledge this issue?  There have been several users who experience this issue.

Not sure if Terratec users are big enough for you to explore this prolem.  But it would be nice to understand that this problem is looked into.

Please offer some comments and suggestions for all of us.

Are you aware that you can change the sound output now?  Right click on the little speaker icon to the left of the volume progress bar.  It may work.

Hi Jim,

I tried your recommendation.  It WORKS!

May I offer some feedback on this long outstanding problem of mine

I did read about the internal volume option, and I was confident it should solve the problem.
However, I looked intensely at the OPTION MENU and window to look for the option, instead of right clicking the VOL icon.

At least this solves my problem, and now I see VOL option over the icon.

Thank you for this very wonderful and useful feature.

You'll find the option in the top menu bar under Player>Volume.
