Registration Key
« on: July 29, 2003, 12:49:02 pm »

My computer crashed and I had to re-aguire my Registration Key, which I did. When i enter it, Media Editor promts that it failed to initialize, and my Media Jukebox prompts that it needs to be reinstalled. Also, attempting to retreive the Reg key several attemps I've now used 6. I would like 5 of those credited back to me.
What can I do to get up and runnig without purchasing Media Jukebox a FOR THE THIRD TIME?

Make sure you have a current version and that your license is good for it.  Details are here:

Has anyone mentioned that the support here really sucks? Seems like a lot of people have problems with MJ. I have Version 8 but when I insert the code I get a prompt that says "Failed to initialze Registration control."
Then I try to open MJ8 and it says I need to reinstall it. Where do I reinstall it so I don't have to pay for it for THE THIRD TIME?

Randy,
It's hard to say what your problem is.  It might help if you would tell us what version you have.

Cooling off might also help.

Sorry man. I just get a little hot when the only solution appears to be to start completely over and re-purchase something I've already paid for twice before.
I have Media Jukebox Version 8.

Also, I tried installing the code several times and I've gotten 6 emails all stating that I've used up one reg code thingy. Plus my Media Jukebox prompts that it needs to be reinstalled. Where do I reinstall it from?

I've figured it out. I went to the MJ8 download page and downloaded MJ8, clicked the Advance tab, then was prompted about "if you've already purchased...yada- yada" to enter code. Everything came right up. However, according to all of the emails I've gotten, I appear to have used several of my reinstall times quoata. How can I get those restored. I should have like 7 more times left.

Help!  My computer crashed and the registration key I saved (on a disk) doesn't seem to be recognized by MJ.  When I try to have a reg code sent to me via email, your website says it can't find my email addy.  I still have the original email you sent me, so I'm positive it's the right email address.  Help!  I love MJ, but really don't want to purchase it again until a new version comes out that really makes 8.0 out of date.  I only bought it a year ago.

you must have renamed it, thats not the proper filename, for that rrg file to work it must be the orginal name.

since your not in the online database you must have a rrg file older than MJ8.

RRG files can not be replaced.

I forget what the filename should be.

do you know what version you bought?

I believe I bought version 7, but 8 came out very soon after, so I upgraded to 8.  I believe I did rename the reg file.  Didn't think it would matter.  Any ideas what I should/can do?

I politely posted a request to have my restores reset.
I am constantly rebuilding my systems and my HTPC machine needed to be reformatted multiple times to get the right configuration with my AIW 7500 Radeon drivers. I now have to run winamp for my ape files on that machine.

Not only was I ignored...my post was deleted.

I guess I should cool off, too, huh?

Let me get in a sincerely sarcastic "thank you" before this post is deleted also.

I don't believe your post was deleted and I do believe I reset your restores the day you asked.
