Here are some new slow areas found since MC v9.1.313 (165,315)
Note: You will only see these with large libraries. This isn't based on CPU, Memory, etc. It's based on MC doing more than it should be doing. I realize my computer is slow. But these are just areas where I think MC could do a much better job.
When creating a new smartlist, MC will gather and display all the files. When entering a name in the edit box, MC will regather the same files. It's updating the same view twice.
After importing, MC shows what's imported with "Playlist=[Recently Imported]". If you import a second time (while that is showing), MC seems to take a lot longer to display the new list, even if it's only 1 file to be shown. Could be a 5-10min lag on showing 10 files.
--Here's what it's doing: First time import (images), it selects the 'Image' Tree with "Playlist=[Recently Imported]". File shown are fast (less than 5secs). Doing it again (as above), it seems MC is going through the 'Image' tree (all files are shown in status) then it's stuck on updating selection and analyze thumbnails.
It still takes longer when viewing images in full screen with a lot of files queued. This was a major problem when it updated mega-me while in full screen but there's still a slow down when going to the next file. No DSP active.
When viewing a large list of images, MC takes a lot longer to create the thumbnails for the files in the current view. It does not take longer when the images are already made, large view or not. It takes longer to get the images of 20 files in a 1,000 list than it does in a 100 yet it's only making 20 images, not 100 or 1,000.
At the beginning of MC 9.0, there was an option to create all the thumbnails. This was removed when MC would create all the files in the list (viewed or not). Now with the new thumbnail display, it's impossible to auto-create all thumbnails (overnight job). Would like this back or something that would allow MC to create all. Maybe an 'Analyze Images' to go with 'Analyze Audio' or something in the thumbnail options.
