TV resolution not saved over MC session
« on: December 02, 2003, 12:23:40 pm »

Hi,

I'm using 9.1.313 and the TV section is not saving the resolution I set over MC sessions.

Can anyone else reproduce this?

I will investigate.

Normally the driver remembers it, but some don't.

I am unable to duplicate this on my system.  However, this is going to be highly dependant on the drivers for your particular TV Tuner card.

I am using the AverTV Studio card from AverMedia and it is working for me.  It also works with a Hauppage WinTV pci.

Make sure you got the latest drivers, that usually helps with problems like that.  Otherwise, maybe Yaobing will find something.

Good luck

What makes you think it is going to be highly dependant on the TV tuner card?

If MC can switch resolutions when I am viewing the TV section it can do it when I first start up the TV section.

Some of the interfaces that is shown to users from MC are actually done by the driver. That is why it may be device dependent. I am still not sure what this particular problem is about.  But which TV tuner card do you use?

It's a Packard Bell PB-TV100/LifeView 2000 which is based on the SAA7130 chipset.

I wouldn't worry about it now as I notice DScaler now works with the board and preserves the resolution so I will be using that so I can have the TV on/Use teletext while listening to music.
