MJ8 & RealOne
« on: December 10, 2003, 05:28:16 am »

I've had MJ8 running happily for a long while now, but yesterday I upgraded my RealOne player from 6.0.10.~ to 6.0.11.868.  Now, whenever I try to play a radio station through Web Media, I get the message "Cannot determine the version of ... Real Player... Real Player 6.0 or above must be installed..."

But it is!  Anyone seen this and been able to fix it?

Thanks,

Gordon

"real player" and "real one player" is not the same thing.

It was my understanding that you needed "real player" prior to "Real One Player"

Well, maybe... I thought RealPlayer was long ago repackaged as RealOne and no longer exists as a separate entity.  But anyway, what I had on my machine when everything was working fine was RealOne Player, and all I did was upgrade it to a slightly later build.

The reference to RealPlayer only appears in the MJ8 message, but I took that to be just a generic reference to whatever "Real" product it depended on for web media playback.
