Hi there,

I'm liking beta10, and I'd like it even more if you'd show the current song playing on the Media Center task bar item... plus a more detailed listing (either of the current song/title/artist, or of the current playlist) with mouseover.

Have you tried RhinoBanga's "Playing Now" plug-in?

It's free, and available here:

It pops-up the song info every time the song changes and you can adjust the duration of the pop-up to your liking. It also shows the previous and next track.

There are also very nice skins for it available in the plug-ins forum.

Hey, that's a neat plugin!  But for my interests, I'd like a less interruptive option, which is why I'm partial to MusicMatch's current implementation; users can simply scan their eyes over the taskbar entry when they like and see the scrolling song title.

If you have MC minimized to system tray and hover your mouse over the icon, the name of the song and the artist appear as a tooltip. Don't know whether this is enough for you though.
