Hard-disc location as a main view scheme
« on: December 28, 2003, 06:37:32 am »

I have all my files manually sorted on my harddrive
For example:

E:/
Garage + House - GENRE
House - Albums - CATEGORY (Eg singles, albums)
Dj Skillz - Old Skool Club Classics (2003) - ALBUM BREAKDOWN
Proper Old Skool Mix-006 - SONG

So for me the best way to sort my files is by hard disc location (because they already sorted into the categories i want) i dont use any playlists either and hardly search for my tunes becuase i dont need to - i have few genres with loads of files so i know where an individual tune is.

In the latest build of V.10 i can see under the default 'advanced tab' there is hard-disc location - however i want this as a main view scheme rather than as it is displayed as default.

i tried to make it a main view scheme but this means i have to use the menu on the right of the screen to get to my desired album, i dont want this, i want to see all the albums on the left side of the screen! is this possible anymore?

I was able to do this in V.9 and the same commands dont do this in V.10 - so i presume this has been changed for V.10, why? i dont see how this helps anyone, its a frustrating way of playing files.

Thanks for your time

Right click 'Media Library' > Edit View Scheme > View - Preset > Disk Location. Should do what you want.

Can also populate the tree, if you desire, from this menu.
