DVD Changer Support
« on: December 17, 2003, 02:14:17 pm »

With all the new changes being made to Hairstyle mode of version 10, I am seriously considering using MC to manage my DVD collection. Does anyone know if their has been any discussion of support for controlling DVD changers. I mean the large jukebox type that hold 400 DVD's. While it's great that I can now store listings of my DVD's in MC, it's annoying to have to pop in the actual dvd on the computer to view them. Is this possibility for a plug-in? Using Hairstyle mode as a front end to this would be a great for the many of us who own a lot dvds.

P.S. I did a search for this but came up blank

I blew a bunch of money on a sony 300 cd changer AND a 400 cd changer because they can "talk" to each other.

Then I ripped everything into my hard driive and use MC to really control my music    ;D

And the cd players are getting dusty.......

Anyway I almost bought this hardware interface for sony jukeboxes called the Slink-e that connects the players to a pc and has a audio cd program to control it.  I don't know about the dvd side of things but maybe someone has come up with an interface for playing the DVD's....

here's a link to the manufacturer:

I don't know of anyone tying the slink-e into MC at this point......
