Differences between MC 9 and 10?
« on: December 18, 2003, 06:24:34 am »

I've searched for 'differnces version 9 and 10' but got 0 results.

Surely there must be an overview somewhere.
But where can I find this?

Bug Fixes For MC9.1 Right Now

Why would bug fixes for the existing product garner a whole major version number increment? Surely there must be some fundamental change to the underlying architecture that's going to support cool new features. Or something. Could someone from JR please way-in here? I'm contemplating purchasing 10, but won't feel compelled to do so until new features are implemented (or at least officially announced).

Ach, what the hell. I bought it anyway. It's only 13 buck (no more 9.99  :)?) And no, I'm not really seeing any new features. Views seem the same to me. I must be missing something. It would be nice to get a rundown f new goodies.

So far the only really new feature that has been implemented is Media Modes but this is that big change you are talking about.  Eventually this will allow all the different media to act more relevantly to their type.  Remember this is only very early beta at the moment.  There have also been lots of changes to HS in the last week (the skinning for example has jumped from version 1.5 to version 1.7).  Potentially great things are afoot, just give it a little time ;D

It is far more than bug fixes . . . .
There are additional and/or revamped features/refinements while there has not YET been much major change.

1-View Schemes are now created with a new View Scheme wizard.
2-Action Window has had some changes.
3-There is a "Catagory Mode" which allows viewing ONLY audio or video or images, or All at once.
To name a few

We're really just starting on version 10.

There will be many changes and improvements and new goodies before it is finished.  It's too soon to provide a list of what they will be yet though.

Did I forget to mention the weather control add-on module?

How about the 'Real-Life' Time-Shifting?  Handy for avoiding Mondays.
