A whole day and no replies? How many d'loads I wonder?

Awight there DJ_Hazelwood, been a while huh? I've not had time to spend a lot of time with this ("'er indoors" has me a tad busy with xmas chores) but I can give you my initial impressions...

I'm truly sorry that they're not exactly favourable, but I know you will prefer honesty.

The first thing that hit me was the yellow/white contrast hurt my eyes. I couldn't spend too long working with that. While I haven't had the time to modify the xml and try different colours, I kind of got the impression that most of the skin was designed around the yellow/white/blue and so changing the file list colours would spoil the overall balance of the skin. The action window uses different shades of yellow which is definately better than the yellow/white

I like the graphical ratings, but feel an empty rating icon would help. (an unfilled circle perhaps?)

I like your choice of light blue. Very refreshing, as is the "flat" look. Like I said, these are only my 1st impressions. Next time I'm doing "media" work with MC, I'll load up Daylight and see how things go. 'till then though, keep on skinning m8 and more power to your photoshop.
Thanks for your efforts here.

Hi Marko!

You're right; it's been a while, but now i'm back  ;)
Thanks for your input.

The first thing that hit me was the yellow/white contrast hurt my eyes.

I'm not happy with the contrast, too. I've tried out another combination of colors and it looks better:
I've changed the back-color in the 'list'-section and in the tree-section from 'FFFFFF' to 'F9DB83'. Looks better.

I like the graphical ratings, but feel an empty rating icon would help. (an unfilled circle perhaps?)

I'm using a remote-control for rating. And this combination of rating-icons is very useful for that (you can see very good if a song is rated or not). But you're right, an unfilled circle could work. I will add it.

Thanks for your help again.

I like the idea of a totally flat skin, just not into the blue's and yellows - not my cup of Tea.
I'd like it more if it was just all flat in one colour with different shades.

Then I could also use MC's visual DSP to let me have the flat skin in multiple colours :)

Much better colour choices with the orange rather than yellow :)

Only suggestion is the bar behind the playing buttons etc at the top - In my opinion this should be a shade of blue so the orange is purely for the display boxes with info in them.

I will try different looks for this area. You will see it in the next version of the mega-skin  ;)

Cool :)

It's my skin now, I quite like it. A breath of fresh air :)

Still a few places with the old yellow around in it - the 'Single Folder (no data files)' - in my computer browsing mode.

Also - how about a totally flat version? Take the bevels off the buttons and make them flat too?

Nice job on it all :)

I just uploaded the new versions - seems to get a 'real flat' skin now  ;)

Just got it :)

Buttons still have a 'gradient' effect but I'm gonna tink with it on my side and show u what I had in mind :)

Also - now it's all the same blue? how could I tweak a value to make what was yellow before now be a blue - but a darker blue rather than the same colour?

Wahey :)
Tweaked it perfectly now for me.

The player controls are all the main yellow colour with a single pixel dark blue round the edge and the same colour for the player buttons.

The search box is also now plain yellow like the main colour.

Love it :)!!

Thanks!

Yes, but i think i first will wait and see what's happening in V10.

What'd u think of my mods?

I see, nice buttons.

And you've changed the color of the player-background. In my version there is only one blue (as you noticed  ;) ).
As soon as i get some time for it, i will play around with the player-background.
My 'blue on blue' will not be the final version  :D

Thanks for your help!

Hi!  ;D

As i was not really happy with the orange background in the skin, i've replaced it with different shades of grey. I think it looks much better now.

The downloads for the updated version are in the first post.
