I Just Tried The New Force Convert To Portable

It works Good To Convert Bitrate Up, But

I was wondering if you could Add A Force Mono ---> Stereo Convert Switch When Sending Mp3's To Portable If It Can Be Done.

I think that is also a problem with my mp3 files not playing thru my mp3 player.

Thanks.

King,

This could be done, but would require a rencode of the song.  You mention not being able to play a song on your mp3 player, have you tried converting the song and then transfer it to see if that is indeed the problem?

yes

and it transfers fine.

it will not play from the MP3 player

if i access the mp3 player with MC10 (it shows up a drive) it plays fine on the computer using the player as a source.

The ones that are in stereo work fine when i get them to the Bit rate the mp3 player understands.

I have not figured out how to take a mono file in MC10 and re-encode it to stereo.

i don't see an option for that.

I did find my book for the player (took me about an hour) and it does state that it does not play mono files.

King,

To convert mono to stereo, run Media Editor and select Tools->Format Converter and change the selection from 1 channel to 2. Could you try that and then transfer the file and see if you are all set.

Steve

well it took me 30 mins for one 20+ Meg mp3 that ended up being 40+ megs but

yes it does work.

It would be nice if there was a check box to do this when sending to mp3 player since most of the 34,000+ mp3 files i have are mono.
