Recovering Database from IPod
« on: January 10, 2004, 12:35:11 pm »

Unfortunately the hardfile with all my music tracks got trashed.
Fortunately, perhaps, its all on my IPod. *In MC whenI right click on Ipod one of the items in the drop down menu refers to rebuilding the database.  Does this cause the files on IPod to be copied to my PC?
If so, where, and in what format? What do I have to do subsequently to rebuild the PC database?

Sherm123,

Rebuilding the database refers to rebuilding the database file on iPod which will not help you out. If you need to copy your files from iPod to your PC, you can right click on the files on iPod and select 'Download to PC'. This will transfer the files into a directory and then you can import them into MC and do renaming based on tag info to create an organizational scheme.

Steve,
Thanks, don't know why I never saw the "download to PC" item in the list box. Sorry for the oversight.
