Harddisk layout in burned CDs?
« on: December 01, 2002, 05:52:31 pm »

I want to have the cds I burn have the same layout (folder etc) like the harddisk but don't want them to start from the root of the harddisk but from some predefined locations. If this is not a feature, it is a natural one to expect from MJ. Especially because CDs usually have problems if the paths are very long.

This shouldn't be very difficult to implement. There should be a list of root paths.
a1, a2, ..
and whenever a file path starts with one of these, they will be removed from the path string. The list of roots could be added to settings, or could be selected during burning; in the second case there should be a mechanism to repeat previous selections easier.

Outstanding idea.  Now that you've said it, it just seems like common sense.

Make sure you post it in the Ver9 forum too 'cos MJ8 has a somewhat reduced priority,  what with the full-blown development of the the next version underway.
