Had to install a new m/b, so Win2K had to be re-installed. It reassigned drive letters and now my "E" drive has become "D." Well, since the drive AND path are stored in the database (?), what do I do now?!

What I should be able to do:

1) Change the drive letter on which the library is found.
2) Since only the path to the file is stored in the db, and since the "Library Drive" is a preference/setting, no problemo! LibraryDrive:RelativePathToMusic gets the list done.

However, I'm afraid it won't be so easy.
However, since MC ROCKS, I won't be surprised if there's a simple, easy, and fast solution.

Win2K's disk management tools allow you to change drive letters apart from the 'system' drive.  This may not be practical if you have reinstalled your applications using the new drive letters.

You can select your entire library in MC and use Library Tools->Find and Replace to change the drive letter to the new one.  Try a few files first though to make sure you get it right.

On Win 2K, right-click 'My Comp' & select 'Manage'.
Click 'Storage' 'Disk Management' in the tree.
Right-click the drive you want to change & select 'Change Drive Letter ...'
Of course you'll have to change D->x, E->D & x->E but as DJM says, only if you haven't installed any apps on the D/E drives.

When I had this problem a while back, I could not even open the library so I could do this.  How do you open the library when the drive letter has changed & MC can't "find" it to begin with?

You can use File->Library->Library Manager to point the library to the new drive letter.  It should then open although it will probably have all the tracks marked with an 'X' as it cant see them on the old drive letter.  You can then do the 'Find & Replace'.
