Buffering/Network Issue on Track Change
« on: January 21, 2004, 12:29:15 pm »

This started to crop up with v10.0.38 and has continued with v10.0.41.

All of my music is on a fileserver in my closet so all the listening I do is over the LAN.  I have MC 10 installed on my workstation but the library points, via UNC, to all of my MP3s.

Sometimes, when going through a playlist, MC10 will go to the next track and get stuck there, claiming it is buffering.  I can hit stop, select the track manually, and hit play and it will play immediately.  But when traversing track to track it stops.  This is not consistent, unfortunately.

I am using gapless playback with Creative ASIO on an Audigy 2 ZS.

I just noticed that the stuttering issue I have been experiencing is gone.  Perhaps this has something to do with that?

Further info on this problem:

Sometimes when switching to another track, either automatically in the playlist or by hand, MC will pause at 00:00 seconds on the new track.  If I hit pause and then play, it will play a tiny bit of the last track that was playing and then will start playing the new track.

If the new track starts off paused as described, I can move the position slider anywhere and it will remain paused at that point.  Hitting pause and then play will do as I described above but will start at whatever point the position slider is tuned to.
