Being at home sick leaves plenty of time for musical enjoyment; hence, it's time for another Pocket music review.
Today, we slow it down with a bit of smoothness in the form of Maxwell's "Lifetime"
[R&B - Maxwell - "Now"]. This piece is a far cry from the typical "rhythm and sex" inherent in today's R&B. The lyrics of this piece are inspirational, and the way Maxwell plays his voice, they become nothing shy of beautiful, soulful, and colorful. Underlying these lyrics is a well arranged piece, comprised of a sparse, staccatic percussive line and a fluent harmony. In all, this most cursive work is a timeless joy to observe; and it will be near the top of my playlist for a lifetime.
