OT: Musicians running their own music stores
« on: January 22, 2004, 09:03:54 am »

From the NY Times.

Selling live recordings in non-drm formats is a great idea and seems like it should catch on.

Bands running their own music stores and selling their albums themselves has a lot of interesting implications for the entire music biz.

Who needs record contracts?  Bye Bye RIAA....?

Maybe it's a ways off, but it seems that all the technology is there.  It might take a while for consumer habits to catch up.
