Well... Roll Me Up
Have you heard anything about the new "Organic" displays that are on a very few of the latest digital cameras ?.
They require no backlighting as they produce their own light & are very readable even in bright sunlight or total darkness.
They are also very sharp as there seems to be no real pixel but a continuous image.
Also they do not have the lag time of LCD screens.
One last thing... they are very thin as no backlight is needed.
Sounds like a win-win situation.
Can't wait for the technology to make it into larger screens for monitors.
Also, have you heard about the latest advances in LCD screens ?
As we all know LCD's are not quite as bright as a really good CRT (yet).
There is a new way to produce LCD's without the fluorescent backlighting that is presently being used.
Instead, they use a panel of special LED's (behind the viewable LCD) for the backlighting.
The side-by-side comparison is simply amazing... more like Plasma brightness plus a truer rendition of color.
The new screens can be produced on the same assembly lines as today's LCD's so there is no additional re-tooling cost involved.
After looking at one of the newer displays you will never go back to simple LCD again
Isn't technology great
