Matt / JimH Throw A Dog A Bone (Mp3 To Wave)
« on: January 28, 2004, 01:08:59 pm »

Is There Any Way I Can Use Media Centers Convert To Wave Tools?

What I Would Like To Do Is Basicly Convert A Mp3 or Other Formats To Wave.

Then Create A WaveForm

Use That Data To Create A Fingerprint Of The WaveForm

Can I Please Use Your Convert Tools?

KingSparta,

You can use MC's Convert Format command to do this, but I suppose you mean to do this with the SDK?

I suggest launching an external command-line-driven mp3-to-wave converter program.  I'm sure there are several to pick from out there.

I would like a OCX\Dll converter

But I Have Not Found A Free One, i don't have $100-$300 for a dll right now, Maybe later.

You could add MC input plugin support to your program.  The interface is documented.

Basically you'd have to load a dll (in_mp3.dll), create an instance of the interface, and use it.  I'm not sure how to use an interface in VB, so you may need a C++ stub that talks with your VB app.

This is sort of complicated, so it isn't something we'll be able to help you with.

Thanks King.
