I have Been Playing With Some Code To:

Download ShoutCast Streams and save them to a Mp3 that you can play as they are downloading And have it working.

was wondering if anyone would think this is useful?

you would need to know 2 things

IP Address And Port # of the stream.

Would be very (!) useful. Streams are in good quality and reliable today. And recording for private use is allowed (IHMO around the planet).

The DI entry I have now was done by finding the stream url and pasting it into MC>File>Open URL, then sending the resulting entry from Playing Now to a playlist. Any automation here would be useful. Are we on the same page?

well see I was playing with it today, Just to see if i could download the stream (and I could) to play it i had to open the mp3 file up in MC as the file was downloading.

I may play with it.

'Listen Now', then choose and click. That should be all to do.

That's a big negatory, Fex. All it does is open MC (if not) and brings it to the front when I click on the LN WinAmp 96k icon of any genre with B49. I have to use the procedure I listed above. It works for some folks...and not for others. Heart wrenchingly, I am one with the latter.

edit: I just noticed that my post count matches my year of birth...so should I refrain from new posts and simply modify old ones or speak thru others?..(in which case I'll need a surrogate). I'm afraid that continuing may have the same result as walking under a ladder or throwing salt over my shoulder. I already avoid cracks in pavement.

Maybe try to turn off your firewall.

In my case I have to give the permission to Norton Internet Security (which asks for a permission with MC).

I think I'm OK now and can continue to post. I said my three "Hail Mary"(s) in quick succession while standing in front of a mirror, then went outside and walked under a gutter that was studded with large, dangerously sharp icicles. In a scene not reminicent of "The Omen"...none broke off.
