Audible on iPod prognosis?
« on: February 09, 2004, 03:15:50 pm »

I've been having sporadic success with audible files on my iPod using MC10.  I am not able to detect any pattern to the success and failures I've experienced over the last serval days (v10.60 & v10.64)

I've experienced every permutation of the following conditions in combination, upon sync'ing:

1.  Playlists appear or are missing
2.  Audible files appear or are missing
3.  Audible files that appear are playable or not playable

I cannot seem to find a pattern to the variations I am seeing.  Getting just a tad frustrating.

I am presently operating iPod in a very strange config,  not sure how I got to this one, but it works for me, for now:

1.  No Artists, Albums, Genres, Songs , etc. appear in BROWSE (huh??)
2.  My playlists ARE visible and I can play ALL my music as I have organized in MC10
3.  Audible books appear in propoer playlist and PLAY just fine.

Very strange!  I'll be patient in this config for a while, as I am able to get to all my material the "normal" way (for me), via playlists.

Hope to hear some good news on this topic soon!  :)

Thanks!

Hopefully fixed in tonight's build of MC 10.

Sadly, similar symptoms in v10.65:

1.  No playlists are available after sync.
2.  Accessing audible books via BROWSE>GENRE, books do not play
3.  After multiple sync attempts, I have no BROWSE>Artist, Songs, Genre, etc. entries ...but I am still consuming the expected >9GB of space on iPod.  Hmmmm...

Reinitialize may times, same sequence each time.  Same un-result.

Note:  "Rebuild iPod from Database" causes MC to crash silently.

If you could try again with tonight's build of MC, that would be great.

Thanks,

Steve
