just how big is your database...
« on: February 19, 2004, 01:19:35 am »

i read that itunes can handle up to 30,000 music files. that got me thinking - how much can mc take, and who out there has a collection of tunes ridiculously large enough to start testing those limits...

Therefore i want to know if you have a HUGE number of songs in your database.

Ill start the ball rolling: 19460 (but i must have 1,000 duplicates)

any bids...

23840 MP3s.  King Sparta once had a library of 150000 tracks, maybe he still has.  JRiver have a copy of it for testing purposes (the library - not the tracks).

I'm around 40K tracks and growing... I've still got around 500-1000 CDs from my old DJ days that aren't yet ripped. I did try to start a pxxing contest about library size once, but the fun was spoiled when the mentioned royal gentleman stepped in and crushed all opposition...

Mine is currently 101,547 mp3s and growing daily.

MC 10 works perfect with that size... if only a little slow when changing view schemes that manage the whole library in album thumbnail view. Other than that, no problems so far.

I can send you one of mine if you want... then you could add "shuffle on" to your "continuous play" and play both randomly... imagine how fun that would be!
