Using a Hauppauge remote for the playlist?

I have a Hauppauge tv tuner card with the silly remote control dangling off the front.  While I'm not really interested in serious PVR capabilities (i.e. MediaCenter) simply because we watch very little TV, I am very interested in having the ability to skip around in a playlist using the remote control.  Is this possible with the standard Hauppauge remote?
