hi,
i'm trying to use command line parameters with Media Jukebox 8.0.400 and I can't for the life of me get it to work. I am following the syntax as outlined at
http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/DevZone/CommandLine.htmlFirst of all, I do not have mjextman.exe in the Media Jukebox installation directory. I believe the executable used to be called that but is now just called "Media Jukebox.exe"? In any case, I have tried the command line options in the following scenarios:
1. Media Jukebox.exe /command
2. Media Scheduler.exe /command
3. renaming Media Jukebox.exe to mjextman.exe; mjextman.exe /command
4. renaming Media Scheduler.exe to mjextman.exe; mjextman.exe /command
In cases #1 and #3, it launches MJ as expected, but does not execute the command. If I leave that instance of MJ running and re-run the command line entry, it just blinks the existing MJ button in the taskbar but does not execute the command.
I tried several different commands to make sure it wasn't the particular command I was misunderstanding.
I tried playing with the positions of the quotes, ultimately settling on
"executable.exe" /command
which the DOS window seemed to prefer for the executables with spaces in the filename.
I've searched the through the entire history of these forums for a similar problem -- didn't find any.
I've Googled the entire net for a similar problem -- didn't find any.
I read the FAQ.
I had the problem initially with MJ 8.0.393 I believe it was. I upgraded to 8.0.400. Still the same problem. Then I even uninstalled the application, and cleaned out every reference to Media Jukebox and J River in my registry, rebooted the computer, and reinstalled version 8.0.400.
And now I'm posting here! Any ideas?
Here's my info:
Media Jukebox PLUS 8.0.400
Install Path: C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\
CPU: AMD Athlon 527 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 490 MB, Free - 132 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Workstation 5.1 Service Pack 1 (Build 2600)
Internet Explorer: 6.0.2800.1106
ComCtl32.dll: 6.00.2800.1106
Shlwapi.dll: 6.00.2800.1400
Shell32.dll: 6.00.2800.1233
wnaspi32.dll: Internal ASPI Layer
Funny, it's wrong about my processor.
Thanks,
Shiraz
ps. i've been a happy licensed user of MJ from its early beginnings.
