I can't burn cds.

I hit start and it sits at 0% for a while, than gives the error:
"Couldn't start audio recording session"

I have a _NEC 7500A which is on your list of supported hardware.  I'm running XP.  This is the one thing about this app I've always had trouble with, ever since version 7.  Seems version 10 is no different.  What can you suggest?  I've read the manual already, but it doesn't seem to have any good solution.  I usually use burn4free to burn cds and it works great.
