I really like that you have set Theatre Mode to remember list style on a per-root basis.  Is there any chance you'd take that a step further?
So that you can have, for example, list view when drilling down through genre & artist and then switch to thumbnail view for album & song selection.

Basically can you extend the list style customization so that each level can be set as to wich view to use??

Yes but then if you have an Artist/album view and only want the list of albums to be in thumbnail mode you would have to drill down to every single artist and select thumbnails to make it remember.

I agree that this would be a nice feature. MC wouldn't have to remember the view style for each place in the tree, just for each level in each view scheme. This would behave in the same way as JLee's suggestion but would be easier for people to use, and could be changed without exiting Theatre View. Also, I suspect it would be easier to code, since it wouldn't require any extra dialogues.

I may be missing something, but Playing Now ALWAY seems to show Thumbnails. Shouldn't it respect the Major mode "Remembered" style? I can't find any way to change it to view as a List.

No way.  You only allowed us to make MC store a different setting for Video, Playlists, Audio etc.  As an audio only user it makes absolutely no difference as i still have to see all thumbnails or all list view.  Please say you'll look at this for the next major release.  

I really don't think that my suggestion is too complicated.  Anyone who can master setting up a view scheme and who also uses Theatre View will find it easy to set up.  Those who can't would just leave it at the default setting whereby they'd just get the button in Theatre to View as they do now to change it on the fly.

I think that a lot people who are using MC for HTPC's will want to configure Theatre View just how they want it to be displayed rather than leave it to party goers or family members to have to work out how to change between views from within the program.

yep, nice one JLee, I agree completely. basically define the default display style for every level in the view scheme.
