Soundbridge: Would this work with MC?
« on: March 25, 2004, 11:44:22 am »

Would this work with MC10, and could I browse my MC playlists, etc. from it?

Wow...

"The Most Music Formats: SoundBridge supports most major music formats, including MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, AIFF, FLAC, and Ogg Vorbis"

But...is this transcoding (via their frontend) or is it native support?

Pretty groovy piece. Price isn't too bad, either.

It uses the Slimserver software used in the SliMP3 & SqueezeBox.  It's a browser-based control system that appears pretty flexible.  Integration with MC would be cool but isn't possible out of the box.
I know for sure FLAC files are converted to WAV on the host PC before being sent to the SoundBridge.
It's my guess that it'll do MP3 & WMA natively.

I would be very interested in support for this, in particular on the fly conversion, since I rip everything to APE.
