Backing up of smartlists and viewschemes
« on: March 20, 2004, 11:37:25 pm »

Does a library backup include all my viewschemes and more importantly smartlists? I have spent hours defining my smartlists and I would hate to lose them in an upgrade process or through failure. :o :o

smartlists - yes

viewschemes - dunno, but would guess yes, as i have backed up then cleared the library many times for various reasons with no problems

Yes to both.  Try it if you like.  Just use Library Manager to create another library which will be empty, then while the other library is active do a restore using the backup you created from your original library.  You'll see it's exactly the same, view schemes and all.

N.B. If you do this remember to switch back to your main library afterwards and delete the other one.
