I've noticed that if you view an album by clicking it in a view scheme which lists albums that the cover art only appears in the action window if the art is NOT stored in the tag.

If it is stored in the tag then you have to click an individual track to get the art in the action window.  Is that a bug or by design?

It's by design.

It'd be too slow to extract the art from each of the files and compare it to see if it's the same or different.
