Hi -

I've recently starting using an online music service that at highest quality provides MP3 files at 384 Kbps.  Since these are freeform files and not a standard bitrate, Media Jukebox doesn't seem to recognize them as valid mp3s.  Is there a plugin that will work, or a better version of the software (I'm just using straight up Jukebox

I Think You Mean VBR Files

In the header of the frame each frame will have it's own KBPS and this depends on the content of the music at that time.

MP3 as commonly used tops out at 320 kbs per frame regardless if it is CBR/VBR/ABR/etc. Higher bitrates may be defined by the mp3 standard but in practice, you probably wouldn't find support for them...at least not in MJ/MC. Will WinAmp play them?..if it doesn't then nothing will.

The files from this particular online music store (www.[web site removed].com) are encoded at 384 KBPs MP3s (freeformat).  It IS indeed a weird audio format, so I've had to transcode it to APE for playback in MC, which so far has been working fine.
