help please-importing playlists
« on: April 10, 2004, 06:05:30 pm »

Hi all,
This might have been asked many times before. I searched the forum. But I did not get the specific explanation. Hence posting as a new thread.

I created several playlists with MC. (but did not export them as html or MPL or M3u).

1.      If I upgrade to the next version of MC-
How can I get the playlists back in MC? Should I not uninstall the library while upgrading? will that retain the playlist?

2.  If I need to use the same playlists in another computer with same media files? what should I do? export the playlists? and if so, how do i import them back into MC? There is no option in MC to 'import playlists'.

3.  When I create a playlist in MC, with what extension the files are created and where is it located?

Please do answer one by one for a computer geek like me.

Thanks in advance.

if you have MC play lists and you upgrade (install over top of an older version of MC) you should still have the play list when the upgrade is done.

Best export/import format is m3u...so export from your old machine then see the following (to import)...

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=20180

The paths to the media have to be the same between the two machines (or corrected with any text editor or MC itself).
